Platypus Lodge is set on the edge of Wollomombi River, close to Armidale. The river is stocked with Trout and there is a large swimming hole ideal for kayaking or canoeing.

The cottage is set on a working sheep – super fine wool and cattle property. We supply wool to Northern Italy for processing into Men’s suits and other amazing wool products. Reda is one of these companies. Built as a drought project out of repurposed convict cut wooden slabs from the New England area from the 1840’s. The hut has similarities to a Scottish Sheppard’s Hut but with all the modern facilities.

The cottage is not fenced so it is not suitable for young children.

• A separate bathroom with rustic basin, large shower head connected to Gas hot water system and a enviro loo.
• BBQ and gas stove under cover for additional cooking.
• Outside Fire pit with log seating
• Limited phone service Get away from it all.
• 4WD or AWD access.
• Environmental waterless loo.
